Product Reviews and DIY Tips

Pure Fiji Mango Body Butter

I am truly madly deeply in love with this Pure Fiji body butter!   It is rich in nourishing natural oils from Coconut and Macadamia with extracts from Soy and Passionflower to soothe and relax the skin. I love to use this body butter all year round, but it is perfect for that dry winter skin we are all prone to getting!   I also recommend this cream for after spray tanning, as the skin tends to dry out afterwards. As this is quite a rich cream the natural oils will help extend the life of your tan.

RRP: $29.95 froPure Fiji Australia Online Shop.

Size:235ml.

Directions for use: I prefer to use this straight after a shower in the mornings all over the body! Use a small amount as the consistency is very thick, but goes on so evenly and buttery like.

For best dry skin winter results use this body butter after exfoliating the body with Pure Fiji's Mango Coconut Sugar Scrub. (Click link to buy).  This scrub is so moreish, do not eat it though :)

Dr Spiller Cucumber Cleanser

One of the most common mistakes I find women and men tend to make is deciding on which cleanser they should use.   You may think that its only a small step in your skin care regime but it is one of the most important!   Many times I find people using a cleanser that is typically not suitable for their skin type e.g a dry skin using a foaming clearing cleanser.   There is a general rule of thumb when it comes to choosing which one is right for you..
DRY SKIN + CREAM CLEANSER = ADDED HYDRATION!
(Leaving skins natural oils instead of stripping more and more with a foaming cleanser as dry skin already lacks oil)

OILY SKIN + FOAMING CLEANSER OR CREAM CLEANSER = PERFECT OIL BALANCE!
(Depending on the root of the cause an acne prone skin usually requires a foaming antibacterial cleanser where as a generally oily skin can use a cream to balance out oil production that is causing the skins natural OVER production of oil)

The reason I love this cleanser by Dr Spiller Cucumber Cleanser is because it is suitable for a range of different skin types and concerns.  It is light and creamy in consistency, which makes it perfect for a combination skin, and it's main ingredient is cucumber which is known to have a lightening effect on pigmentation! Fantastic after you have had a break out as it lightens the red spots pimples can leave, as well as perfectly balancing the skins oil without stripping it away.

P.S Remember those terrible photos I uploaded a couple of issues ago, well this one one of my savior products I was using to save my skin! Click here to view photos

DIY "Beach hair without the beach" Spray
Feature Written by Angela Yellend

There is nothing better than a sun kissed tan and beach hair! So many people love the texture of their hair after a day at the beach..... Sea salt spray is the way to go when you cant make it to the beach!

There are so many great brands you can buy from salons but it is so easy to make it yourself at home. After a few experiments I came up with this one and its amazing!!

What you will need....
1 cup of warm to hot water
1 teaspoon of Himalayan Rock Salt
1 teaspoon of Coconut Oil
1 teaspoon of Hair Gel
1 Small Spray Bottle

Pour water into your bottle and add all other ingredients 1 by 1.
If coconut oil has hardened just put it in the sun for 5 minutes to liquify and pour in.
Once all ingredients are in screw the lid on and shake... Done!

You now have your own Sea Salt Spray for your hair. Also great for Guys hair and keep a mini spray bottle in your hand bag for during the day touch ups!

Moroccan Oil Treatment
Argan Oil Leave in Treatment
I was introduced to this amazing product over 2 years ago by my Hairdresser Alicia, and once I started using it I have never looked back!
I have quite fine hair, so at first I was a bit weary about using an leaving in oil treatment, but this leaves absolutely no residue in my hair and never makes it limp no matter what the weather conditions forecast.
Also know as Argan Oil this treatment is ideal for use as a conditioning, styling and finishing tool, which makes it the perfect way to transform and repair damaged hair.  I have always been prone to spilt ends but I found that over time Moroccan Oil has helped put a halt to the damaging effects of heat styling by protecting and nourishing my locks.  Maybe because it is formulated with proteins for strength, fatty acids, omega-3 oils and vitamins for shine, and antioxidants for protection. It absorbs instantly to fill gaps in hair created by heat, styling and environmental damage!

RRP: $55.00 at most hairdressers or online.
Although, I found it online at Catwalk.com.au and they have an offer for $50 with  free shipping!
Size: 100ml
Directions for use: Apply small amount to towel dried hair, from mid-lengths to ends, Style as normal. I use after my hair is dry as well if I have curled my hair, just gives it that extra shine and gloss.

A'KIN PURE RADIANCE ROSEHIP OIL
Certified Organic

Welcome to one of the most affordable yet extremely effective beauty products on the market, Rosehip oil.
This is one of my most favorite store bought products that I try to recommend to majority of my clients.

This beautiful facial serum is made from a base of pure Rosehip concentrate oil,  which is packed full of potent anti ageing fighters from Vitamins A and E and Omegas 9, 3 and 6 essential fatty acids.
This certified organic serum contains no less than an amazing 80% concentration of omega fatty acids.

To break it down for you, when essential fats such as these are applied topically they increase the barrier function of the skin which is turn reduces water loss, as well as increased elasticity and the skin appears younger and smoother.   Vitamin E is fantastically nourishing and strengthening to the cells, making this serum perfect for a red damaged skin with broken capillaries.

RRP: Between $15.95-$19.95
Depending where you go, you can purchase this A'kin product at any pharmacy or online health food shop.

Size: 23ml

Skin types: All skin types including dry, mature, sensitive.  Those with acne or are prone to a lot of congestion I would suggest to avoid this as this will be too rich for your skin.

Directions for use: 2-3 drops massaged onto the skin underneath moisturiser of a night. Dryer skins may use during the day underneath moisturiser.
